Becoming the most prosperous district in the country through uplifting the living status of the community by ensuring a sustainable development to achieve with securing the historical value of the district through sound management of physical and human resource with coordinating government and nongovernment and Polonnaruwa District

Polonnaruwa district is the second capital city of North Central Province & having an of 3337.5 Km2 and the population is 394,800. Being bounded to the north by Anuradhapura District and to the east by Trincomalee & Baticaloa District & to the south by Ampara & Badulla District & to the south by Matale District. Polonnaruwa district is in the dry zone &having dry climate most of the time in the year. Annual Rain fall is mm & receiving majority of rain from North East monsoon during October to February. Most of the community earns their of sust through agriculture and massive irrigation system supporting for the same is functioning in the district

Polite & generous staff in this office is always bound to serve you & if you have caused any inconvenience or obstacle from any Divisional Secretariat in the district or any other government institution you can made a complaint to District Secretary regarding the same. District Secretary will retrain at the office on Wednesday & when there are not any field duties he will retrain at the office on other working hours as well & any matter could be presented before him & prompt action will be taken
